Progress and Innovation Continues

For those that have recently joined our list of ion beam enthusiasts, welcome to the newest edition of our Ion Times newsletter. If you work with ion beam, or plan to in the future, we encourage you to review some of our older newsletters that include some helpful tech tips.

In these earlier additions, you will find some detailed topics and information about ion beam source issues that some users have faced in the field at one time or another. These tech tips talk a bit about troubleshooting, identification and repairs for these issues and can help you get through some difficult situations. You can also call us if you need help!

If you missed our March 2025 edition, we announced our brand-new large area 6 x 50cm linear RF ion source. This is our largest ion source ever designed and produced by our amazing team here at Plasma Process Group. We brought this product to industry because of the needs in the field for ion assist, preclean, and in some cases deposition on large substrates. Call us now if you are interested in talking more about this new product.

We can’t wait to work on some new opportunities and collaborations with you in 2025. Would you like to chat a bit more about collaborating with Plasma Process Group? Plasma Optik? If you are attending Optica OIC — Optical Interference Coatings Conference in Tucson, AZ, (Booth 413), or Society of Vacuum Coaters (SVC) TechCon in Nashville, Tenn. (booth 1110), make sure you come by and see us. We are excited to talk with you.

Plasma Optik Ion Beam Sputtering Services

Focused LDT Testing Has Begun

In recent weeks, Plasma Optik has been working on a major round of high-end films in their Techne Ion Beam deposition systems. These samples have been sent out for testing. These coatings have very difficult to achieve specifications that everyone in the industry is currently trying to produce in order to advance optics to the next level.

Plasma Optik’s top thin film coating experts, have just completed multiple rounds of coatings using internally designed multilayer coating processes. These samples have been sent out to 3 different institutions for detailed testing to confirm that we can and do produce the cleanest films on the market. We are so excited to see the results.

One final point: A significant challenge facing coating companies today is the limitation of resources. Many businesses are forced to decline opportunities due to a lack of capacity or specialized equipment, such as ion beam deposition systems. Don’t let these opportunities slip away — if you require ion beam sputter coating resources, reach out to us today. We’re here to assist.
