We have had a few recent changes within Plasma Process Group. First with updates to our website. We have added an “About” page that talks a bit about where we came from and where we are going. Please take a moment to review this new addition to our website.

The other change is in our Sales Department. The promotion of Dan Bouillez to Sales and Marketing Manager.  Dan has brought solid experience and expertise to Plasma Process Group for 12 years now and has nearly 40 years in the thin film coating and equipment industry. Please welcome Dan in his new role here at Plasma Process Group and we encourage you to work with him directly for your next system needs or your next upgrade for your legacy ion beam equipment. Contact Dan at [email protected] or call 1-970-663-6988 ext. 115.

Class Is Out

Brett Buchholtz, Founder of Plasma Process Group, recently held our first online class for the TechCon 2021 Virtual – Society of Vacuum Coaters program from right here in our lab in mid-May. Brett’s “Fundamentals of Ion Beam Sputtering” class was a big hit with a variety of students from around the world that had attended. For those of you that joined Brett for his class, thank you for your attendance and for your interest in joining us for this special occasion. We hope you took some knowledge away from the class for your future.

For those that could not attend the class, a large portion of Brett’s live class was also recorded for future viewing so stay tuned. We will try and announce their availability as soon as we have finished the editing process and have downloaded them for viewing. We hope you can take advantage of the videos when they do become available.

A new optical coating resource company

A Brand-New Company

We have identified that many coating companies need additional capacity and resources. Plasma Process Group Founder Brett Buchholtz has decided to expand his knowledge and expertise a bit further and invest in a brand-new Sister company to help support optical coating companies like yours. Though under the same roof, Plasma Optik is a separate entity and is currently available with a brand-new clean room and a fully loaded Techne Ion Beam Deposition system.

We welcome Jim Kraus to this new organization as our expert Optical Coating Engineer to get the ball rolling on this new venture. Jim comes to Plasma Optik with an exceptional history and a broad background in optical coating process and design so he will be ready to take on your special coating needs immediately. Please send him an email and welcome him to his new position. If you have a need for coatings, we encourage you to contact him with questions at [email protected] , and see how he can help you. Let the coatings begin!

Light at the End of the Tunnel

Though we have faced a very difficult blow to our economies worldwide with the Covid 19 pandemic, due to the needs for health-related equipment and optics, our industry has thankfully been minimally affected aside from the occasion vendor lead time extensions and raw material delays. These are completely understandable given the conditions everywhere.

Aside from this, we at Plasma Process Group have been doing well. We are very thankful to our customers for helping us get through this crazy and trying year. We look forward to a return to normalcy very soon and hope that all our Customers and Vendors remain vigilant and healthy as we continue to improve. Stay tuned for our next newsletter and thank you for your ongoing support from all of us here at Plasma Process Group.
